Therefore, the video player software cannot use hardware video overlays and hardware video decoding, nor can it tell the graphics device that it should enable HDCP. Thank you very much for this report. It seems like the problem is specific to movies purchased (or rented) through Amazon, right? Instead of the content included in Amazon Prime Video? I would be logical if different licensing restrictions could be imposed on them, and this error 1705138 affect them specifically. In Bug 1705138, we have reports of users no longer receiving HD content when using Amazon Prime Video. I mention this error to track the problem, although I can`t reproduce the problem myself (for example, I always get an HD video when I test with The Expanse). I tested with Bliss (2021) on Amazon Prime. The video will have HD for Safari (14.1) and Chrome (90.0.4430.85), but not Firefox (88.0, 90.0a1). media.gmp-widevinecdm.version=4.10.2209.1 in both versions of Firefox. OS is Big Sur 11.3. Your video will play in standard resolution because your computer hardware, HDMI cables, and display must all meet the HDCP (Content Protection) requirements for HD video. We understand that you are having problems streaming HD videos from your MacBook Pro to your TV. Can you play the videos normally before streaming them? If you have 4.10.2209.1 and you still get SD, could you post the video you are having a problem with? Could you also go to about:support and use one of the provided buttons to copy the information and then add it to this error? „The HD display is not available because the display does not meet HDCP requirements. Well, sorry for the confusion. Amazon Video didn`t play 4k from my laptop to the TV, it was 1080. It seems to be limited to 1080 from the HDMI output. Netflix also plays 1080 (1920 x 1080) if the video is in 4k format. For my initial question of getting 4k from my HDMI output on MacBook Pro to TV, I came across the solution completely by accident! I labeled my TV inputs and noticed that apparently inputs 2 and 3 on my TV were improved for 4k (I definitely thought all inputs were 4k). (The setting on my Sony XBR 55X900E TV is to press „Home” on the remote control >click Settings in the upper right corner>external inputs> HDMI>opported format signal format). I connected my computer to input 2 (instead of 4) and immediately brought the 4k video from my HDMI laptop to the TV! Delicious! Both exciting and frustrating, it was something so simple! Strange that the setting is buried in the settings of the TV. A small complaint about this compared to the other input (not in 4k) is that my Bluetooth mouse now seems to have a little more lag.
Nothing terrible, but striking. I will update if I find a solution for this. I contacted Amazon and they told me that Prime Video did not support streaming HD videos to a second screen. They also said that my system was not compatible. No, you cannot stream Amazon Video/Netflix in 4k 60Hz from the Mid-2015 HDMI output of the MacBook pro or Mini DisplayPort. Supports 4k 30Hz max via HDMI and Mini DisplayPort. Using 4k 30Hz creates mouse delay, the resolution should be 4k@60Hz for smooth response. Amazon/Netflix seem to limit video streaming to a second monitor at 1080 (perhaps for HDCP reasons). How can I resolve this issue? Do I need to connect my monitor to my PC via HDMI? Is it my graphics card? I`ve seen other HD movies on my PC. Most variants of Ubuntu allow you to enable proprietary drivers through the Software Center, and you can even do this on a live USB flash drive, but I`m not sure.
I can`t stream HD HD from HDMI from my Macbook Pro to my Sony XBR 55X900E TV due to HDCP issues. When I connect an HDMI cable to my Macbook Pro, HD is no longer available on Amazon Video. I get the message: For updates in the Firefox web browser, click the menu icon, click Help, and then click About Firefox to trigger an update check. HDCP errors received when the laptop was connected to the TV`s 4k input. Strange since I didn`t have that sooner. Leave it here if it is useful for testing. (Mojave is the latest version to support both 32-bit and 64-bit apps, so upgrading is the least annoying.
